Your calf and your heel are connected by more than proximity. They're linked through one continuous chain of tissue, and tension anywhere in that chain shows up as load somewhere else in it. That's not a metaphor — it's straightforward anatomy, and it's exactly why calf tightness keeps showing up as a contributing factor in heel pain research.
